About Betty Goh
Born and based in Singapore, Betty Goh held successful solo exhibitions in Singapore and in Tokyo. Her long term theme is “Subconscious”, capturing the adrenaline and vibrancy of city life, juxtaposed with unspoken loneliness, tension and dilemma lurking beneath the surface. Through her introspective street photography, Betty delves into her soul and subconscious, presenting unposed and un-staged images taken in a single exposure with minimal to no editing. Betty’s work has also been included in group exhibitions around the world.
Course Description
In this workshop, learn from our expert abstract street photographer, Betty Goh, on how to observe the streets and discover opportunities for abstract street photography. Acquire skills on how to make use of light, spaces and reflections to frame and produce creative abstract images within single exposure and with only minimal edits.
This course starts with a guided photographing session on the streets, followed by an editing and review session.
Logistics and what to expect
1. Workshop focuses on visual composition. While the instructor can advise the camera settings required to capture the scene, participants are expected to be familiar with the operation of their own devices
2. Digital camera with wide angle lens, preferably 35mm or less. Using a wide angle lens allows participants to capture more street elements in their composition. Phone cameras are welcome
3. Participants are expected to bring their own laptops for the editing and review session. Instructor will provide guidance and feedback.
